Mexico remains top U.S. trade partner in July 2023

The partnership between Mexico and the United States continues to solidify with Mexico being the top U.S. trade partner in July 2023 at $65.3 billion

In July 2023, Mexico was again the top trade partner with the U.S. at $65.2 billion, a .24% year-over-year increase.

This was the seventh time in the last eight months Mexico ranked #1 in monthly international commerce with the U.S. Mexico’s total trade with the U.S. year to date totaled $462 billion, ahead of Canada ($450.3 billion) and China ($322.3 billion).

Mexico’s gains mirror it’s rise in manufacturing. During the first four months of the year, total trade of manufactured goods between Mexico and the U.S. totaled $234.2 billion.

Foreign direct investments in the manufacturing sector of Mexico are at $10 billion through August – already nearly as much as was invested last year in total, which was $13.7 billion.
