GREEN BAY, Wis. (June 13, 2024) – Schneider National, Inc. (NYSE: SNDR), a premier multimodal provider of transportation, intermodal and logistics services, received prestigious recognition at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Las Vegas. The company secured a win in the Leading Shipper/Carrier category of the 2024 ACT Expo Fleet Awards.

Schneider continues to make significant strides in lowering its carbon footprint. In fact, the company is 90% to its goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 7.5% per mile by 2025. To help achieve that goal, Schneider launched a fleet of 92 Freightliner eCascadia battery electric trucks in 2023.

“This past year was a milestone for Schneider’s advancement of clean transportation through electrification,” said Schneider Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Rob Reich. “Our initiatives focus on safe and sustainable solutions that make a positive global impact. This leadership is important for our customers, like PepsiCo, who want to work with providers who share these values. Being recognized by an industry organization with a similar objective – advocating for a more responsible, sustainable supply chain with minimal carbon emissions – is truly an honor.”

The ACT Expo Fleet Awards recognize the front-runners in the transition to near-zero and zero emission transportation. The award is a testament to Schneider’s leadership in sustainable transportation. It underscores the company’s dedication to improving air quality and its successful transition to cleaner technologies within its fleet operations.

Schneider, renowned for having one of the most efficient fleets on the road, has established aggressive sustainability goals and is committed to remaining an industry leader by reducing transportation’s impact on the environment. Key initiatives include reducing its overall carbon footprint, advancing its fleet of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and investing in energy-efficient equipment. Schneider is also focused on improving fleet fuel efficiency, expanding Dedicated and Intermodal solutions and conducting energy audits at its owned facilities. Furthermore, Schneider is helping customers achieve their sustainability goals easier and faster.

June 2024 marks the one-year anniversary of the grand opening of the massive charging depot at Schneider’s South El Monte Operations Center in Southern California, where the company powers its electric fleet. The depot features 16 350 kW dual-corded dispensers which allows 32 trucks to be charged simultaneously. Each vehicle can achieve an 80% charge in just 90 minutes.

As part of the award, Schneider and ACT honored PepsiCo for its collaboration with Schneider. In 2023, Schneider was the first third-party carrier to haul zero emission shipments for PepsiCo globally using its eCascadia fleet. In 2023, the company completed nearly 800 BEV loads for PepsiCo. This approach created the opportunity to institute efficient solutions that significantly lessened both companies’ environmental impact.
